What is a NOAB?

Last reviewed 2026-10-15.

NOAB is short for nine on a board. It is the name for a small rack of nine tubes fired as one item. In the Fireworks Bible guide, the NOAB type covers both a nine on the board rack and a 9 shot 500 gram cake.

How to use the word when you shop

• Treat NOAB as a style label, not a size. Read the shot count, the gram size and the running time on the box, as you would for any cake.
• Check the store listing before you assume what is in the box, and plan where it fits using planning a show.

To compare NOAB products and their prices store by store, search the guide. For what other words on a box mean, see the types guide.
